Make Your Own Copper Xmas Decoration – Sat pm
This class takes place for one afternoon on Saturday 9th December 2023, from 2pm to 4.30pm
Join our Christmas Party! We’ll be cranking up the festive tunes whilst nomming mince pies and sipping a bit of mulled wine. Meanwhile, you’ll be doing a little bit of Christmas crafting as you learn how to make a hanging copper decoration in our bright and shiny jewellery making workshop in Birmingham. You will learn to saw-pierce a circular bauble-shaped holiday decoration from copper incorporating a cut-out design from the selection available (or you can make up your own!). A unique and personalised piece of festivity!
This jewellery making course is suitable for complete beginners. Step by step, you will learn to drill and saw-pierce your piece of copper into a cut-out pattern The tutor will make a decoration along side you, and will use their piece to demonstrate each step. For those of you who already know what you’re doing, there is a discounted price for existing JQ Set students – get in touch if you haven’t received your coupon code!
You will need to bring your own apron to class, along with reading glasses if you wear them.
This course is intended to be a little bit of festive fun, a Christmas crafternoon (or morning!). I find saw-piercing really peaceful and mindful (although learning it is less so, but you get into it quickly!), and it’s a great way to try out some of the simpler skills involved in jewellery making.
Other times and dates for this course include:
Sunday 10th December Afternoon – 2.00pm – 4.30pm
You could also choose to build on the skills learnt on this course, and add new ones to your toolbox, by progressing onto our Beginners courses. Add to the skills you learn on your saw-pierced Christmas decoration, like filing/buffing, soldering and polishing as you make and finish a cut-out patterned silver ring. If you can’t make the next scheduled dates, sign up to our Newsletter to find out first when the next round of courses are available to book.
