I have done two courses now with Pippa- first her silver... ring course and secondly I have just completed her Xmas copper decoration course.The studio is an amazing space in the centre of the jewellery quarter and Pippa herself is so so lovely, helpful and informative...plus she has her little puppy running around which of course is a bonus. I would highly recommend this course for anyone who is looking to get into jewellery making or just anyone who wants to try something different for an afternoon or a few weekends. You meet great people, the tea and chat flows and at the end of it you get to keep whatever creation you have made.Amazing experience thanks Pippa! :)read more

I was looking for a beginners jewellery making class based... in the jewellery quarter when I found The JQ Set, located just a few minutes away from the Jewellery Quarter railway station. After looking at some of the rings and earrings I could learn how to make I signed my mum and myself on the one day beginner's jewellery course.On the day I was greeted by Pippa, an experienced Jeweller and jewellery teacher and her puppy, Tino (who loved all the fuss!). Pippa was warm, friendly and very patient as she took us step by step through how to make a pair of silver earrings (which are now my favourite pair!).I am now looking at enrolling onto the intermediate jewellery making class to make a ring! Thank you Pippa and Tino for a lovely day and we shall be back soon!read more

Pippa is a professional jeweller and gifted teacher, aware... of the problems beginners might have.The project is broken down into simple steps which she demonstrates and, no messing around, she showed us how professional jewellers work. She gave us tiny hints from her experience that make a huge difference! She checked that everyone (small class sizes) was able to manage each technique, giving advice and helping where required. She also made her own piece at the same time, so we could see how it should be made, and so each step was given appropriate time.The finished piece is something to be proud of, even if, in my case, I was a bit shaky on some techniques!The studio is pleasant and the tools new and of good quality. Pippa is very friendly and easy to approach, (and her dog is lovely)!I can't praise this course enough.read more

Just done the beginners’ course and absolutely loved it! My... first attempt at jewellery making and I’ve made a sterling silver ring and earrings that look very professional! If you’re looking for a new hobby, give this a go! Pippa is a great teacher, the studio is absolutely beautiful and the classes are fun and relaxed.read more

I've just completed the beginner's course and I would... highly recommend it! We learnt a wide range of techniques and lesson time flew by every week. Pippa is very knowledgeable, friendly and patient and under her instruction I made a ring and a pair of earrings which I'm really pleased with. I'm really looking forward to attending the improver's course next.read more
